This guy just called from "Tea Time Lawn Care" pushing heavily for their lawn care services. Not sure what tea has to do with lawn care, but regardless... this guy had his 'rebuttal book' handy and was able to draw it faster than Billy The Kid drew his gun at high noon. Just amazing.
The transcript is as follows:
Me: "No sir... I do my own lawn care"
Pushy Phone Jockey: "Well what if I can get you in on the friends and family program since I live close in the area?"
"I dont know you... am I being watched?"
"No sir I just figured that, since I live close..."
"How do you know my wife?"
"I dont know your wife, sir. We could come out 4 times a year for $49 each application though"
"How much do you charge to get rid of nutsage?"
"It would be included in the package"
"How do you know my wife?"
"I dont know who your wife is. I was just calling about lawn care services"
"If you dont know my wife then why did you move so close to us?"
"I'm not sure I am following you sir"
"Then how did you get my number"
"It was just in my list"
"I live in an apartment"
"Oh. I thought this was a home owner"
"Would you like to come over and take a bath? We can talk about lawn care"
Line goes dead somehow....
I dont think he will be calling back. DONT MESS WITH MY LAWN!!
I guess it was my turn to get a call from these clowns today. They just dont take no for an answer, and seem to think they have all the answers to a persons lawn dilema. I told the guy that I take a lot of pride in doing my own lawn care and he says "anythin you can do, I can do better!". Then he starts singing "Cruel Summer" by Bannannarama and said that is how the st louis heat can ruin a lawn. He insisted on coming over with an estimate, and I kept on saying no thanks. Then he said that if I didnt agree to an inspection, that he would have someone come over and inspect my anus, and started making horse sounds!!! I am so terrified that I packed up most of my belongings and have moved to a new location because I think they are trying to follow me. As soon as I somehow pull myself together, I am going to contact PETA and inform them of this incident.
