the caller was a man who said he is a Missouri State Highway Trooper, reminding me to drive safely especially on the highway during bad weather, this is the second time this number showed up on my caller I.D. & both times the man said he is a Highway State Patrol Trooper, also he didn't talk much, he paused many times as if he was nervous or trying to tape record my voice.
This man said he was collecting for the Misosuri state troopers. I told him I was on the no call list and he said "What is that? I informed him that if he truly was from Missouri he would know what that was. His number was 636-489-2381 BUT he said he was calling from St. Joseph. 636 is st. louis area code.
Got a call ....Chesterfield, MO listed on ID.....he said I wasn't in any trouble, after he said he was calling from the MO Troopers Assoc....I told him I KNEW I WAS NOT IN TROUBLE!! I also told him I was on the NO CALL LIST, told him I did not talk on my cell unless it was family...told him I was hanging up!!!
Virtually impossible since Centurylink will only allow you to block 10 numbers, and most of the callers that call several time per day; Centurylink will NOT ALLOW YOU TO BLOCK them at all!
Wonder how much they pay Centurylink?
Same for cell phones, but there is a partial cure.
You can identify the number and assign a certain ring tone to it, then block all incoming numbers that have that ring tone.
Not perfect but we have to be creative with these criminals.
I’m going to close my landline account with Centurylink and use only my smart phone, saving over $100 per month in the process. Keeping only my internet connection. Also with my “Straight Talk” smart phone I have unlimited 24 hour nationwide calls all for $45 per month with NO ANNOYING CALLS !!!
