My disabled mother received a phone call. It came in on Caller ID as AMER VETERANS C. They told her that a new program had just been started which entitled her to 44 hours/mo. of house cleaning services. They told her that it is because she is the widow of a deceased veteran (true). They said that the program worked thusly: They would deposit $1000 into her bank account as a grant, and then draw it immediately back out to cover the 44 hours. They wanted her bank account number and Social Security number which she did not give. Sounds pretty fishy to me. I did a reverse lookup and it came from Harvester, Missouri.
