Got a call from this company this morning. I was checking out the person who called. When I asked him if he had anything to do with Capital (alias) (the company I have my car with), he said, "Capital (alias). What's that?" I said, "Never mind. If you don't know, I'm not interested. Good-bye." I hope he calls me back again, so I can hang up on him.
Complete scam! Did not even address my questions, but rather read from a prepared script. I finally hung up and he immediately called back. He now has my cell phone on record. Not smart on my part! Do not call this company!
This is the "Vehical Protection Center" and is a scam. I fell for their mailing a few years ago and luckily caught-on to their scam within a few months of signing up. After being on hold/disconnected from their phone line multiple times, I finally threatened to call the police once I had someone the line. I was able to cancel my policy for a charge of $50 (with no refund to the prior monthly payments I already made) and sending in a notaried copy of my drivers license and a copy of the entire users manual (why did they need that? Probably because they thought I threw it away and were hoping I couldn't deliver it back). I was happy to get out of the scam though. They periodically call me and I lie and say I no longer have my car just so that they will leave me alone. They are terrible and heartless people and should be arrested.
