I don't know how any businesses do telephone transactions anymore when we all suspect an unknown number to be a scam. What a shame. Didn't answer the call I just got and sounds like it might have been legit.
I screen all calls in & out of area. Totally expected a hang up but it was a rep from AAA calling, & she began leaving me a message which I disrupted. My card is set to auto renew & when they attempted to run it, it was declined. She was trying to help me to avoid a disruption to my service & offered to help me renew my membership. Just because of so many scams going on & my caller id only identified the number, I asked her if I could just do all of this via the website. She was very nice about it. In checking the website a bit later, what she told me was accurate.
Same story as DesertTurtle, I fully expected it to be a hangup but then the person on the other end was calling from AAA wanting to go over all of the benefits that AAA has to offer, not selling a renewal or anything just wanting to educate. The caller was very polite and respectful.

Strange that AAA has caller ID disabled when calling out to customers.
Also should keep in mind that some of these sites contain disinformation from the caller themselves.
