I've been getting calls from this number since November of last year. It started off as sign-up/renewal of trade publications. After getting 5 calls a day for the same mags or similar, I asked them not to call me anymore. The calls stopped for a couple of months, but they've started up again. I get 3 types of calls from them: a loud click of being disconnected immediately on answering, call center noise, or someone with a strong accent on a static-y line. I get AT LEAST 6 calls throughout the day from them. My caller ID even shows calls from them well after business hours or weekends. I know it's a fake number because it shows up as a long distance number even though the phone number is local. They only identify themselves by name but don't mention any company name. I finally got a phone with call rejection and it's helped a bit. They still call just as often but now I don't have to waste my time answering it.
I called the number back and it's a recording that says they process renewals for free trade journal subscriptions and I could press 1 to renew or 2 to not renew. I pressed 2. I have no idea what they were selling but that should make it go away. They've been calling my office and hanging up for a few weeks now.

Yes, more of what others have said. I get way to many calls asking me to subscribe to trade mags for areas that I don't need, want or care about. This time today, it was the no answer...with a House Springs Missouri identification.
