About one month ago, I started getting calls from the 868 area code. Most of the calls were ringing through between the hours of 9:00pm and 4:00am Pacific Standard Time, U.S. When I would answer the call, I could hear a conversation but it didn't appear that the other people in the conversation could hear me. The language they were speaking is one that I am unfamiliar with. I searched 868 in Google and that led me to an area code in Trinidad and Tobago. This went on for several weeks then stopped completely. About two weeks later I started receiving similar calls from 639 and 630 area codes; however, this time it appeared that the calls were coming directly to me versus me just listening in on a call. When I answered the caller would ask for someone whose name I didn't recognize. I told the callers they had the wrong number and requested that they stop calling. There were multiple people calling as evidenced by both male and female callers. Last night the calls started at 11:16pm and ended at 6:22am - with approximately 2 - 3 calls during each hour - for a total of 38 calls. Needless to say, I was not impressed. I attempted to call the numbers back this morning but received a message that the numbers were not valid. I called Verizon, my mobile carrier and they stated that they were fairly certain the numbers were originating from the Phillippines. They were able to put a block on my phone from the incoming numbers. I'll see what happens from here.
