These guys called telling me my computer wasn't working. I thought, "Oh fantastic, these [***] got my phone number." I played along with them telling them I was sitting at my computer and would love their help although I was walking through Home Depot. When I said I was at my computer, they gave the phone to another operator. He proceeded to ask me if I could find the control key on my computer. I said, yes. He asked me again. And again. And again. I finally told him I'm not an idiot and was looking at the God dam control key. He proceeded to tell me to "F*** off" and hung up the phone. I've reported them, but it's doubtful it will stop.
called saying they were calling from the Dept. Of the Treasury and that they have a case against me.. Gave me the # of their supervisor to call. Then the call dropped.
Received a call from that number on 04/27. They said there's a file that hackers cae access to gain control of my computer. I played along with them for a while, even going into the csrss.exe program they wanted me to look at. They seem to believe to a company, or using a phony company, called liutilities.com. It would be interesting to find out, from a legitimate source, if what they told me was true.
They have called me twice. Once from 6395140000 and once from 5867750000. They said they were from Microsoft and asked if I was having a problem with my computer. I told them that my computer is working fine and they hung up on me.
My mother got the same call and they walked through her "issue", at the end of the call they wanted $200.00. She told them no way and hung up on them.
They said they were from the US government and I'd randomly been selected to get money, etc. I listened to the spiel. she said "I bet you're wondering why you were chosen to get this." "uh, no, I'm thinking this is a scam and wondering when I should hang up." "F*** you" and she hung up on me. First time I've had a telemarketer swear at me . I'm so proud.
