Knew my name and wanted to talk to me about medicare which they said I am on. I am not on medicare. They mentioned a company name that I do recall but that I had never heard of before.
6:46 PM EDT, caller id NY, USA. Based on the timing and comments above, some link in the chain of communication between doctors, labs and insurance providers seems to be effectively publicly available to robo-scammers.
I know this is long, and has a bunch of links to other posts here, but Moderators please bear with me, thank you.
Unfortunately blocking the number isn't really going to solve the problem. These scammers have been at it for a
couple of years now. I took the time to gather together links here at 800notes to the New York area code 646 that mentions back brace and list below 21 other numbers used from that area code in 2016-17
There were 10 pages of threads that matched 'back brace' looking like almost every call originated in New York
(area codes 518, 631, 646, and 718), Illinois (area codes 630, 702, 773, 779, 847) or Arizona (area codes 480, 602, 928)
Going to the trouble of gathering all this, and documenting it here because I am also filing a complaint with the FCC

As big as the number of reports that have been posted here, the scammers have to be ripping off millions of dollars from Medicare. Maybe not from us, because we are watchful and check here at 800notes, but I sure not everyone is quick to recognize a 'free' back brace Medicare scam

Thank you for pursuing these horrid companies who prey upon the unwell and elderly. We have all become prisoners of both our home telephones and those cellular ones purported to set us free. Please continue your campaign to expose the numbers and ultimately names of these criminals, and they are truly criminals, to those who may have the power to stop the constant intrusions into our lives.
