Received a message saying the IRS is filing a lawsuit against us. I called and got someone with a very thick accent saying there was a mistake made on our tax filings from 2011-2015 and we owe $7,996. If we don't pay they will seize our home, cars, and property. She even gave me her badge # and case ID #. I referred to the irs website right away to make sure it was fake because I was freaking out. Just another scam.
The dialer left a message advising that they the IRS is filing a lawsuit against me. I called back and the idiot didn't bother asking for any information before telling me I and in deep trouble if I dont give them money. Confirmed scam.
Realizing this was a scam call, I immediately dialed them back up. They said, just like to all others, that the IRS is filing law suit against me (English almost unintelligible because of the accent) for an owed $6258.00, and I have two choices - pay now and it all goes away, or hire a criminal attorney and fight it in court in Washington DC tomorrow morning. I said I want to fight it, of course!! So then I was transferred to a 'supervisor' who told me that the government would be at my home in 45 minutes to arrest me and seize my property. They get super frustrated when you don't go with their narrative, and I always try to keep them on the line by playing dumb and making them explain things over and over for as long as possible. These people are scum of the earth. It makes me so angry - because they wouldn't still be doing this if they weren't receiving a pay day from someone... most likely elderly, confused and vulnerable people.
