This guy calls and says he's from the federal government out of Washington DC (awesome!) and my name was randomly selected for a $9k grant that I'll never have to pay back. I'm assuming he was after my bank account number for a transfer. Who knows? I told him this 100% sounded like a scam and I kid you not he started to sing to me and at the end says "[***] you, Elizabeth"
is this a real call or a scam, i had the same kind of call for grant money from the government. They called off a private number than direct to call this number 646-450-4859 to claim. They had incorrect information about my address also.
Total scam. There is no grant/loan. They want you to wire a "fee" back to them and then they disappear. By untraceable means, of course. Ignore and block any calls
from this number or anyone who offers you grants or loans. Scams been going around for years. Originates in India and Pakistan. Accent should be a dead giveaway.
I received the same thing... They were correct in all areas of information. They said I had no DUI, CLEAN BACKGROUND, and have not filed bankruptcy in thest 6 months.
