The Caller ID for this # and 630-491-0147 shows "Service Call" and the 646 # call was a telemarketer type presentation and the 630 # was a hang up call. Tell them to take your # off the list, do not give any info, and hang up even if they are talking is what I do.
gman518, the name Prescott Clearwater is your first clue that it's a scam. Block their call on your phone and ignore them. Pressing "1" when you cal them will NOT remove your number from their records even though they say it will.
I got an unknown call stating my computer was sending several error messages to Micorsoft Windows Service Center and they were calling to help correct this problem. He had a strong Asian accent, and said I needed to go to the computer, didn't have to be online, and to go to the certain places, etc. I felt uneasy but wanted to see what he was going to have me do. He asked if there were any warning labels in any of the areas listed and wanted to verify i was in the exact location he asked me to go to. He hadn't asked me to change anything yet, but I started thinking about him trying to tap in while I was online, and I finally asked again where he said he was calling from and with who, and that I needed his number to verify that this was a legitimate call and he said he didn't blame me and gave me 323-522-5366 to verify and that his name is Adam the manager, he said they were in California. I looked up the number and Windows Service Center Calls and it showed as a scam and I entered a comment on the tel. number above. I called the number and it just rang and beeped to leave a message WITHOUT any ID or information. A few minutes later, Adam called me back on my cell and said he was calling back from The Windows Service Center. I informed him of the scam and how Microsoft does not call in this manner, and he said he was Not with Microsoft I questioned why the first call showed unknown (he said it's due to the large satellite...)and nothing identified them when I called in and that I was going to report this event and to remove me from their list and not call me again. He said "okay, thank you mam" and I hung up. BEWARE OF THESE CALLS---DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING ON YOUR COMPUTER!!
