got a call from this number claiming to be the IRS with a recorded message about how I am about to be sued for back taxes. I didn't understand the whole message so I called back. The person I spoke with said his name is Richard Lee and he told me my taxes for the last 5 years had been miscalculated leaving a balance of $2,497, and if I wanted to resolve this out of court and not have officers show up in my doorstep to throw me in jail, I should drive to my bank to do an electronic transfer keeping him on the line, and let him know when I arrive so he can offer further instructions. I asked if he could verify the debt with my SS# and he became angry telling me the federal courts don't make mistakes, so I hung up on him. He immediately called back on another number (646-450-2584) and yelled at me for hanging up on him. I told him it was a mistake and he said if it happens again to call him at the latter number because it is his direct line. I then told him what I thought about his lame scam, and offered my opinion on his character, and informed him I was reporting both numbers to the FTC and that's when he hung up on me.

I got the same call too. The IRS doesn't make phone calls so don't worry. It's a can and it pisses me off that they do that kind of things. I hope they get found and put in jail.
