Got a call from this number today (3/27/2017) at around 1 PM. Caller ID showed "Out of area 1-646-588-0555". Let it roll thru to voice mail. Whoever it was didn't leave any message. If you call with an "Out of area" CID, and you don't leave a message, you get blocked. End of story.
I got a call at 945 am 3.28.17. Didn't answer. No message! Judging by above messages ...possible scammer just got new phone number. Maybe by spoofing!?
Caller ID says "New York NY". They leave no message. I do not call them back.
Looked elsewhere as there was little here. About the only thing I discovered was that most of the activity has happenned in the last 24 hours (just as in this thread). It appears that this is a new number.
Lately, I have been seeing back brace SCAMS and MS Windows "problem with your computer" SCAMS coming from the 646 area code. The latter seems more likely as the brace scammers seem to be a little more savvy. My computer scammers know my name, that I have a Dell, my Dell service tag and express service code. Since Dell has been breached, they may have additional information as well. They are *NOT* Dell.
