Craigslist scammer. Tells you that he will paypal you the amount for your listing but he is out of town and will have a shipper pick it up. Tells you to pay for the shipper cash and paypal you after. do not fall for this
I've just received a text from a man claiming he is Robbert Franklin. He is out of state and wants to purchase a love seat and sofa from me but he needs to have it shipped. Sounds just like what is described. Now he is asking for my full name and address so he can send me a check. I've said No twice already and he keeps coming back. Thanks for posting this information. I also talked with my sister who told me this was a scam. Someone tried it on her, too.
Craigslist Scam:
The scam works like this. They think your item as described is perfect. They might ask a few questions about it, and then will pay your asking price, sight unseen, because they are never around close by to come look at it (they use the stationed somewhere in the military a whole lot). They will give you an extra $40 or $50 to old it for them. Then they tell you they will send a cashier’s check or money order for that amount plus extra for the “shipper”. They ask you to wire that extra money by untraceable means such as Western Union or Moneygram. The check or money order turns out to be bogus and you end up out the money you sent plus the bank fees. Also, if the check is big enough you may end up being charged criminally. Take the check and the envelope it came in to the post office and have them forward it to the postal inspectors.

I can't get cash across to my shipper directly and they don't use paypal, so i will add extra money to the payment for the shipper so that you can pay my shipper cash on my behalf. Send me your paypal info for payment so we can proceed

Just received a text from a CraigsList ad I posted from a scammer telling me he would pay via PayPal. I thought about giving him the name and address of the FBI or local police but he still has my number so I didn't. I hope others do not fall from this scam.
