Do not answer calls you don't know and never call them back. The IRS will not call you. The IRS won't ask you to pay in i-Tunes cards. The IRS will not wish you "good luck as the situation unfolds". Trust yourself and your instincts - do not let a bully intimidate you by threats that are nothing but hot air. This is a SCAM.
1 646-663-7942 called to say that they were with the IRS audit department and I was being sued. Didn't say what for. I don't think the IRS sues you if you haven't even been audited yet. I am pretty sure they can just garnish wages and don't have to sue people anyway...
I have received two calls from these scumbags today sounding very official that I was to call this number or else face IRS prosecution for some tax problem. Called back and number was unavailable. Know better than to answer any calls from IRS. When originally called name and number of caller were given, sounding very official. When I called back the number I was told to call, a recording stated the number was unavailable.
FRAUD - steer clear.
