A man calls, asking for different people.  I recognize the name and phone number.  He asked for our executive director this time.  I screen all calls.  Asked what call was regarding.  He replied "due diligence for retention."  I told him our director would not be the one to whom he should speak (knowing I wasn't going let him speak with ANY one in our office).  He INFORMED me that another person had recommended he speak with our director.  I told him I would confirm that information with the other person, and get back to him.  Asked for his name and number.  Ohhhh, noooo....would't give that to me.  Turned rather nasty and rude(r) (more rude?).  Said I'm not the one who makes decisions.  I told him he is oh, so misinformed.  He asked my title, I wouldn't tell him.  He said, "You're not the executive director, and I'll call and speak with "director" about this."  I laughed, told him to proceed as he wished, as he wouldn't get through me, as I'm the gatekeeper, and these gates are closed.  Oh, he's calling from IBIS World in New York City, and his name is Kenneth.  Avoid him.
