Just got this message, The robot started talking before the answering machine even picked up. Said I was being arrested for tax fraud and I needed to cal ______ at ________ and make some sort of payment plan.
I got this call to my home number. Researched as I always do and then called back from cell. I was told about the alleged warrant for my arrest from the "us treasury". I played dumb and asked "what do I do should I send money?" And the man laughed and said no thank you you can hire a lawyer and fight in court. Called back and asked to speak to supervisor and supposedly he repeated the same thing and when I told him I know it was a scam he basically said "la la la" you're not listening and then hung up. Called a third time and asked to speak to a supervisor again and said I know it is a scam and I am reporting them to the us treasury scam department and he asked me if I had the number and he said, "write the number down. Then shove it up your a$$." They knew it was me because I guess the had caller id and they knew I kept calling. They were all male of middle eastern decent not sure sounded Indian and claimed it was from the us treasury department in New York. What I don't understand is, if this is a scam, how does it work and what do they want because when I originally called back he didn't advise me to call anyone else, provide any information, send any money, etc. I have left a phone message for the irs fraud alert and will file online. Now I'm nervous because what if they were able to obtain information from me when I called?! Idk. I blocked them in my contacts. Callers beware. THIS IS NOT THE IRS. They would never contact you like that...

I just received a call from this number as well stating the same thing. I googled the number as I always do with unknown numbers and was glad to see I wasn't the only one. I'll be reporting this to the IRS to take action against these people.
