Received a call from 718-318-6301 and spoke to a woman with a really thick accent saying that she was calling from the U.S. Government Grant Treasury and that I was receiving a grant. I asked her what for and she said for being a good citizen and some other stuff that I didn't understand because of her accent. She went on to ask me if I was close to a Walmart, Rite-Aid, CVS or Walgreens and I told her yeah. She asked which one and how fast could I be there. I told her Walgreens and 30 minutes. She said that she had to verify my info which she did by saying an old address of mine. I went along and she told me my grant amount ($6700) confirmation number and call back number (646-740-0531) for an Eric Brown. She said that I had to call him immediately after hanging up and if he was busy to try again in 5 to 10 minutes. She also said that after receiving said funds that I would have to call him again to confirm receipt. While on the phone with her I found several fraud alerts for both numbers. I wrote everything down and called Eric but some guy said that he was busy and to try again in 5 minutes. Not calling or going.
Scam. They want you to send them $250 and they'll send you $6700 plus you'll get it he $250 back. Of course I did not send them nothing. Do not entertain. Scam scam scam.
