Long pause, and then "May I speak to Mr. or Mrs. [mispronounced last name]." She waited a couple of seconds, then hung up. Her mangling of my last name is a clear indicator that the call is from either a scammer or telemarketer. Those who have a real reason to call me know how to pronounce it.
I've been getting a bunch of calls from the 646 area code recently. This particular one is new. It's possible the scammers are switching their spoofed numbers again to a different set. Call came in before 9 AM this morning and no message was left.
