Your phony IRS calls are usually coming from India or Pakistan. They're harmless if you don't answer their calls in any way. They can get away with it over there so they're going to try.
I received a threatening voicemail saying the FBI was going to come take me into custody in the next 24 hours. I called the number back just for the fun of it. The person was foreign, wouldn't provide their employee #, starting screaming at me to listen to them, and then said "you are stupid stupid person."
