Same grant scam as above, but the number was one digit off (646-813-0852) Wanted our bank numbers to deposit the cash, when we wouldn't he offered for us to go to CVS or Walmart. They wanted $200 to start the process of sending it to Walmart! Total SCAM!
I actually had a 1 second message from this caller, so I called back. Some Indian guy answered saying I was the recipient of grant money from the government. I told him I never applied for any grant money and he said it's an award, I didn't need to apply for it. I then started quizzing him on where he was and he haltingly told me an address in NYC. Then I told him I didn't want any grants and to not call me anymore. He then cursed at me, telling me, "You know what? F*ck you! I have a big dick and you should f*ck it. Is that alright?" I had to laugh at him because he actually asked me if it was alright! Then I told him he needed to learn how to curse and he continued, so I hung up on him. And I blocked him.
Missed call to my business number from these guys. They left very short robo voicemail stating I am recipient of a grant and asked me to call back to a different number than was on the caller ID. I dialed the original number, and an Indian guy answers the phone, "Thank you for calling Grant Department, how can I help you?" When I told him I was returning a missed call from his number, he immediately hung up. Called him again, same exchange and a prompt hang-up. Called a third time, and this time he changed his greeting: "Thank you for calling the Federal Grant Department, my name is John Vasquez, badge ID# blah blah blah, how may I help you?" I told him to stop calling me, and he apologized for disrupting my day, and hung up.
Simple truth is this number is a scammer. Block their [***].
I just got a call from him same thing I received money from a government grant and he gave me a reference number and asked me what store was close by me Wal-Mart,CVS,etc and he said call this number 646-813-0859 and give them this reference number JS125 and then Wal-Mart will cut me a check for 9300 dollars. I don't think Wal-Mart would cut you a check for that huge amount . So don't believe any number that says unknown and check the number for scams.
