I got the same call. Left a message on vm at work. I don't think they realized they called a business, because our number use to belong to someone else. But, if they are monitoring me and I know they are a scam, then I should file a police report for stalking.
This number called and left me the same described voice-mail of being the irs and having a warrant for my arrest with a crappy automated females voice. When i called the number back a middle eastern man answered. Also a ton of loud background people/noise. When i asked why he called me he said he would answer when i give him all my personal information. When I obviously said no and demanded why he was calling he became angry/condescending and began mocking me and repeating what i said like a child so i told him i was going to report them and hung up. Also different number called and left the same voicemail-206-451-5845 days earlier, which was a washington area code seattle. This 646 area code is apparently brooklyn/manhatten area. The 206 number was not found on many reverse lookup or scam report sites but the area code was. I found reports of the same scam with same descriptions of the man and automated voicemail stating they were the irs and there was a warrant for your arrest. Also they were watching you and your assets from the same washington area code. I have had every scam hit my phone in the last few years from consumers energy to pushey aftermarket car warranties and other irs scams. They find more elaborate ways to get you to answer as time goes on. 95% of the calls not answered or responded to.Something needs to get done about this. I have HUNDREDS of blocked/reported numbers on my phone and STILL it doesn't stop. I did sign up on the national do not call registry and this has not helped yet. I feel like i am being harassed all the time. Huge invasion of privacy when my phone is receiving anywhere from 2-6 scam/telemarketing numbers a day. I am thinking about changing my number getting a new phone and pay to make my number private and register on do not call list before i activate it. Pretty sad and annoying this type of s*** keeps happning and i will have to go to those extremes to try to stop it. Even then there is no guarantee that will even work. If anything i know this was long but hopefully helpful in anyway possible.
I got a message from this number saying that they were the crime investigation unit of the IRS and that they were issuing an arrest warrrant for "you" and that my home and physical property were being monitored and that I needed to call them back before they proceed with further legal action.
