I just got a call from 646.931.0979 saying that I had won a vacation because I'd stayed at a resort at some point. I'm not really a resort person, so I was immediately suspicious, but she just kept going. Sounded like a scam, and now that I've found the number here, I feel confirmed in my suspicion.
The caller came on the line with "Hi, this is Josh from Customer Service. Can you hear me OK?". Got to pay more attention as this came in on my cell phone. I don't mind playing games with them on my land line but the cell phone is off limits to these people(?). As soon as I realized this was a scam call I hung up without saying anything. I've heard this greeting before but it must have come in on another spoofed number and I don't recall what the scam was about. Hopefully they call back on my land line so I can have a battle of wits with an unarmed computer.
If I don't recognize the number I do not answer. I called the number back and got a message stating that the survey I was calling about had ended. They just called me two minutes ago!!! Idiots!
