This is an update from my last post. I called Rogers to understand why this number appears to keep calling and we get charged for it but have no messages in our voicemail box. It is not underhanded, just a little confusing. The Rogers agent explained that calls that go to voicemail get processed through two numbers to reach our specific Cell # voicemail box. When someone calls and reaches our voicemail, we get charged. If the person hangs up instead of leaving a message, we will see this first Rogers number show up which is the first number the call goes through for our area when processing the voicemail. However, when we check our voicemail box, there is no message because the person hung up and did not leave a message. Mystery solved. So, the only way to avoid these charges is to ask people who call you a lot to hang up before it goes to voicemail if you are not answering.
