I received first missed-call from this number about 8-9 months ago. I called back, a guy answered and told me that he doesn't know who or why someone gave missed call to me. Thereafter I started receiving missed calls regularly, almost alternate day. If I call back the number is unreachable. I think someone prankster is trying to pull a dumb joke.
This number keeps calling and then when I answer,whoever it is stays on the phone and there's no response back. Then they hang up. I've even sent them txt msgs to stop calling me, but no response again either.
I was sleeping while I got a call on the other side of which an old lady was speaking, saying that I have been chosen on the draw Cache gift services and will have the choice between a trip to the US, 1500$ cash, a Toshiba laptop and some others. then she asked me whether I have a wife or girlfriend, where originally I am from, whether my income is over 15000$ a year and whether I intend to buy a hose in near future. before this she was trying to persuade me to call my wife and give the good news to her; she said the only condition is that I have to attend the ceremony at 3:30 the next day. then she apologized and asked me to hold for a second, started talking to another person. I had this feeling that she deliberately wants me to hear what she is telling the other person. she was repeating the information I gave her, like that I am single and I intend to buy a house in near future. then she returned to me and told me she will call me back tomorrow at 10: a.m. and will let me know the table number and the address where I have to attend the alleged ceremony. I didn't take it seriously, but because she was an old lady, I kept being polite and did not ask to much questions about them. she didn't tell me where she is calling from.
I got the call from the same no. too. The girl on the line wasn't very clear. There were people talking and laughing at the back ground. I hung up. I could not understand her accent, it was like she was trying to put on a fake accent.
Just had a call from a lady professing to be from 'Cashe' who are a "bundle service provider" of household services, she said I had won one of 5 prizes (42" TV, 17" toshiba laptop, US/Florida trip, voucher for furniture or $1500 cash) by entering a ballot at a trade show, gas station or a restaurant. I wasn't available to go to their presentation at the Quality Inn either tomorrow or Tuesday and said it too short notice, to which she said she tried ring yesterday & day before (lies). She is going to call me back next week to let me know what dates she has then though!
Has anyone been to the presentation? I'm assuming this is a scam too.
