I also received a letter with the same information. I also received a phone call. As I was speaking with the guy he was explaining everything to me and my fiancé was listening. I finally asked the man how I managed to get myself entered into this drawing and he hung up on me. My fiancé and I agreed to have that number blocked. The man also asked for my routing and account number so he could deposit the check into my bank account and I told him I didn't have one and he proceeded to ask if I knew anyone I could trust to let me use their account info. I knew pretty much right away that this was a scam and I wasn't about to fall for it.
Received check for $3975.00 and letter saying I won $ 250,000.00 from American Mega Lottery. Listed address of 5247 Las Vegas South, Las Vegas, NV 89101 and 111 King Edward Road, London, England SE34 OBS.
Said it was to be used to pay the fees, surcharge, Insurance, Handling and Shipping charges involved with
sending me the $ 250,000.00 that I won. The said later in the letter that the fees would amount to $ 3900.00.
Said to deposit check and call them for more info as to what to do next.
Letter contained Global offices in German, Hong-Kong, Ecuador, South Africa, France, Italy, Spain and UK>
This is a scam that is going around do not call this person as he will have you take out the money right after depositing the check and then they will cancel the check after you hae sent them the money thus causing a fee at your bank for bad check
I did not receive a call - nor did I make a call to this number. However, my cell phone bill did reflect 2 calls TO this number - I DID NOT MAKE THESE CALLS.
I as online looking at book titles for possible downloads - so I guess that's where they got my number and figured out how to charge me for PHONE CALLS that I did not make from Florida.
