A robo call company. They do crap for whoever pays them to harass people. Used by political group, surveys, charities, newspaper subscriptions, fake credit card calls and so on. Sometime the robo gets confuse, call and have dead air. Most annoying.
Today, I decided to return the call. I was told to "stay on the line" ... After 15 minutes of "mini-operas" and piano, I gave up. Should the CRTC look into those idiotic callers? (I get those calls every day!) How do you put a number on the "Do-not-Call" list if the number doesn't respond?
I'd like to recommend 647-725-7911 as one of those numbers on ANY/EVERY Do-Not-Call list ....
Errmm.. I think your sounding somewhat confused as to how this works. Your number goes on the list for telemarketers to not call you. Here in the states, legitimate telemarketers/business's have to purchase that list and scrub their dialers/computers of those numbers so you do not get called and are required to update it periodically through the year. Our DNC's are pretty similar.. so adding them to the DNC means they will get no legitimate business's telemarketing calls.
When you get called after you name is on that list, you then report them to the appropriate agency's since they are calling illegally ( criminals and foreign country's do not obey laws). Don't expect miracles, these calls take time to track down and even then, some of those lead to dead ends or foreign country's where our country's have no jurisdiction.
Now, do a search on call blocking devices.. those are always the best bet for stopping unwanted calls! :) With persistent ones that change main numbers and not the area code, block by the area code itself!
