Same Indian scammer. Told me I was in some sort of trouble with the law blah blah blah. It's a sorry state of America that these people have nothing better to do that cold call Americans, but even sadder that some are really on that side of the courts and probably fall for it. I haven't done anything wrong and don't owe anyone money that I don't know about, so I just laughed. But how is your government going to stop serious crime when they can't even enforce the do not call list?
I reported the 640 690 8806 to the Verizon phone company here in NJ. They gave me instructions on how to block the number via their website. I spoke with the idiot after several calls and messages on my phone and told him I was calling the police and that it is widely reported that he is scamming and that people know that rhe US Treasury would correspond via US Mail. I told him to stop harassing me.
I'm from NJ and this Indian man called me three times today telling me he's calling from the US Treasury and if I didn't return call, that I would have to go before a US Magistrate, which is pretty funny since I manage a law firm and I know quite well this is not the law! I hope the Feds catch him and have him stand before a Federal Court judge!
