Applied for a job on craiglist and got the same response as the last 15 (from Casmin - mine was from Parton Corp). Gets you excited doesn't it. I was not as smart of some of you. I opened up the test to see what it was - didn't take it though. I wonder what this is going to do to my computer.
I recieved one today as well. I have not responded to any of the requests and googled the numebr right away and got here!! Here a copy of what I recieved. I flagged it on craigslist too as a scam!!
It was from a company that dose not exist. JDR Services LLC
Dear Applicant, it is wonderful to speak to you.
We appreciate you e-mailing us.
Unfortunately due to so many hidden viruses being sent to us we are unable to open any resume that you may have attached. We have partnered with a online resume hosting service, so we can safely view resumes. In order to be considered for the position you must become a member and upload your resume here.
Once your resume has been submitted to the site please contact us at this email so we know it is available for viewing.
I will call and confirm your interview upon reviewing your resume. If you are no longer looking for employment please respond with your name and 'not interested' in the subject field so I can better shuffle through all the mail I get and take you off the applicant list. Once again, Thank you for your interest in the position.
When I opened this link, I couldn't believe all the comments on these so called legit employers. I did open their links and felt these were scams. Of course, you do not know until you get an email from HR something. So, I delete them. One thing I have learned, that if it is for real, you get calls for inteviews. I have two interviews this past week. So, please do not get discouraged out there. I am glad to see that this activity has been reported. I just did not know who to call.
Although craigslist have disclaimers; they should have something in place to all craigslist to see it companies are legit before posting.
I applied for a position as well on craigslist yesterday and i received the same kind of e-mail that a lot of you have received but mine was a little different. Look Below:
I appreciate you e mailing us and taking the time to send in your resume. Just in case the posting was not clear, the duties of this position are as follows:
-You will be answering telephone calls and logging messages whenever applicable.
-You will be scheduling the company group meetings, and running errands for the company for things such as purchasing supplies and making bank deposits (you will be supplied a company car during business hours).
-While you are running errands, you will also be given use of one of our company credit card(s) for all business purchases.
You seem more than qualified for our open position and more so than the other 22 applicants we accepted resumes from. I am interested in taking the next step with you. However, before I am able to schedule a final interview, my company will require that you obtain a up to date (past 25 days) credit score. We have started this because unfortunately our company has had several bad incidents with prior employees taking advantage of having access to our company credit card.
Both the HR department and I will prefer that you utilize this site to obtain your score as this site is offering the check at zero cost for the score(unlike other sites). We also found that their scores constantly report back the most factual and accurate information, and they are one of the most reliable trusted sources on the internet.
After you submit all of the needed information, the website will present to you your unobjective score. Then, you need to email me the reported credit score (the number only), a telephone number that you can be easily reached, and your availability schedule to arrange an interview. I ask you to not email me the total readout, as it will have confidential subject matter. If you carry a lower than expected credit score, it will never prevent you from obtaining a position with us. I had a reasonably low score when I began working here and I never had an issue. If you do not want to complete a up to date credit score, unfortunately the company will require that I move on to the second choice.
Personally, I desire to fill this position with a new friendly face and I am looking forward to your quick response.
Have a great Wednesday.
Regards,
