I Received a call from someone claiming to be from PFAW a progressive political organization. He starts out by thanking me for my support and then begins to tell me that President Obama is going to let 10,000 Syrian refuges into the country that aren't vetted and do I agree with Jeb Bush that this is "crazy." When I start to tell him why I agree with Obama, he hangs up on me. Obviously he is not with PFAW or Emily's list as some others have alleged.
For months this person calls maybe several times a day. I've actually never answered, so I have no idea who it is, and they never leave a message. Caller ID displays: Tse M. I'm sick of it.
Have gotten 3 phone calls from them in the last 4 days. I don't answer of course, and there's never a message left. Caller ID says YVM, whatever that is.
Just now called--and it's Sunday!!! (No rest for the weary?) That did it. I'm blocking it. I keep a list in a word processing file on my computer of the numbers I have blocked on my Panasonic phone (I can block 30), so that when I'm out of space and need to enter a new one, I look for a number to erase from the list. Found one, and have now entered YVM's number into my blocked call list. The phone will still ring once, but then stops. I think what the robo-calls then get is a busy signal. After a few times of this, I think the company takes the number out . . . at least temporarily.
I can also block calls (but only 12) through my phone provider, but I can't see then how often a robo-dialer has continued to try to call. That call-blocking service is also full.
This site has been a tremendous help in making those decisions. If a number only has a few posts, and especially if it's old, I'll choose to take it out over something that's got 5 to 17 pages of posts.(Duh!) Thanks again to everyone who posts relevant information here.
