800notes plainly states it is a "Directory of UNKNOWN Callers".
Perhaps we need a Directory of KNOWN Callers for the gormless and lonely who wish to meet people and make online friends.
On the other hand, it is a proven fact that the gormless (or shills) do not read - they merely waste electrons with inane posts.... and, it seems that too many posters are unaware that scammers can spoof the numbers that appear on one's Caller ID.
This is a legitimate number because I spoke to someone there at a different number and they called me back from 651-662-8006. They left me a voice mail and I tried to return their call but the call could not be put through. Ever since then, I have been getting calls and texts from various places claiming to be real estate agencies in another state, saying that I contacted them about properties and then sending me texts telling me thank you for viewing their properties. I received two calls and several texts two days ago, and another text tonight from a totally different phone number and area code from the original number too. There is no doubt in my mind that someone at Blue Cross turned my phone number over to solicitors.
This was a legitimate call from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota. In my case, the coordination of benefits department. I spoke to them earlier in the day. They left a message with a different callback number. I spoke to the same person I spoke with when I called them originally.
