They are calling my sister telling them that i have a felony warrent they are trying to serve for me giving false information to who knows what... What did they tell you?
I believe this is a part of the "subpoena scam" that has been making the rounds, wherein the caller tries to scare the mark into believing they are in legal trouble but can avoid trouble by payment of a fine, the payment of which of course can only be accomplished by obtaining your credit card information . We received a phone call at our company regarding service on a former employee. The lady on the other end of the line could not even speak intelligently about the legal process of service, could not explain to me whether the subpoena to the former employee was in his individual capacity or in his official capacity as a former employee, nor would she give me the case caption to which this matter supposedly pertained (which is public record). When she got frustrated with my questions, she quickly stated something about filing for evading service and hung up on me. Don't be frightened by this scam and don't let them lead you to believe they are representing the court system in any way.
Same here, called our office inquiring about an employee and automatically assumed I was that person and stated they are going to serve me. Was very unprofessional and continued to scare me. I was like okay you do what you need to do, however I am not the person and I hung up with the person. Do not fall for this.
I got a call from unknown number but within the voicemail he left the number 657-200-5023. He said the he is calling on behalf of legal support services. Something about a summons and I had 24 hours to call back at that number or an address and income verification was going to be done. He had a case number. Should I be worried?
