These scammers rely on Peerless Networks to continue ignoring the abuse of their products. I had to file a few complaints with the Better Business Bureau to get them to actually feign a response. Peerless makes a living through these scammers, so they have no incentive to be a reputable or legitimate business.
Called DNC registered mobile number. No message was left. Returned call with CID blocked is alternatively met with silence or two types of fake busy signals. Then tow recorded variations of a "reorder" tone with fake "your call cannot be completed as dialed". Then a horribly distorted recording of a noisy conversation. Then a perky "Hello and thank you for calling. If you would like to be placed on a do not call list for the number that called you, please press one now". So what does that tell you? That the number is active for incoming calls, they are just using these fake recordings to discourage others from calling back repeatedly (with CID blocked) and tying up their line. So if everyone would do that, perhaps there would be some small amount of payback justice.
Call-no message. No message=no call back. My number is on the national DO NOT CALL list. Next time, it'll be turned over to State's Attorney for Prosecution.
These idiots, I mean, people, have called me a dozen times in the last 2 weeks, sent me letters, all claiming my car warranty is expiring. I am pretty friendly with my dealer (2nd car from them) and have told them about this scam. They claim to be from "Dealer Processing Department". And thanks to Google Voice they go straight to their own custom voicemail that says "Thanks for calling the FBI, for prison, press 1".
