I've been getting calls every day, night, morning for two weeks now...I finally answered and when the guy started his spiel I said, "not interested, please put me on your do not call list" and I hung up. Having worked in telemarketing I know how this works...and no one has to sell your number. All they have to do is make cold call sheets (that's what I used to do) for the telemarketers. So, if someone's there when you answer, tell them to put you on their do not call list. Unfortunately these companies don't share information and you may have to tell them several times before the calls stop. I give them a week, then report them to the Better Business Bureau and my carrier and a couple of other places.
this # has been calling me anywhere from 4 - 6 times a day for about 2 1/2 weeks now ... it's on my cell and if I am awake when they call I just hit the B*&%h Button ... I am sure that they are either a scammer, telemarketer or another low life collection agency who bought a 10 year old, out of date list from some sinking ship company trying to recover money that they have already been compensated for from their insurance companies. Yeah .... alot of larger, high risk companies have insurance policies to compensate them for uncollected accounts ... I found that out a long time ago through a friend who worked collections for a "major merchandiser" who offered their own credit card. His job was to harrass people as much as was legal ... then send it to a professional collection agency and then if they couldn't settle it the
"merchandiser" would file claim with insurance company for recovery. I have heard of people getting calls over a so called debt that is over 9 years old????? REALLY????? There is something seriously wrong with that scenario!!
