I had the same experience as others, with this and other numbers. They call and leave a message saying this is my last chance to enter the federal student loan forgiveness program. For a while, I was teaching math in a Title 1 school, so I could have entered the loan forgiveness program... so I was originally thinking it may be real... but I'm glad I checked before actually talking to them! They also send text messages and say reply "STOP" to unsubscribe, but when I went to do that, my phone warned me it would cost a fee to reply to their message. Thank goodness I do not have a credit card attached to my phone for app/etc purchases! That is particularly sneaky!
I've gotten many robo calls about my student loan. What a joke! I'm 72 years old and never went to college. This time, however, the caller ID even said "Scam Alert." I am so sick and tired of these non-stop calls. It's bad enough when they call on the house phone, but even worse when it's on my cell phone. I have given my cell number only to my immediate family and closest friends and they all know to only call me on this number if it's an emergency. So, when I hear it ringing, I always get concerned. So much for being on the "Do Not Call" registry - it doesn't work. :-(
