Caller ID "LEORF" Per Google this means "Law Enforcement Officers Relief Fund." I answered; however, the caller hung up. Lately I have been answering the telephone with "Hello, you have reached the number that you called; who is calling, please." So far these callers just hang up.
Caller ID says "Midway City CA". They leave no message.
I didn't call them back. Looking at Paul-C's Feb 1st post and my previous experience it sounds like their full message is likely to be, "Hello. None of our representatives are available right now. If you received a call from this number, we should contact you within the next day. If you believe you received this call by error, please, press 1 to be added to our Do-Not-Call list."
Sam (previous post) found info for their acronym LEORF (sometimes used on caller ID). According to LEORF's webpage they are located in (scam centric) Florida. Another poster had a caller ID indicating Illinois. The area code corresponds to California. If they can't even be trusted to tell you where they are located, they really can't be trusted with your information/money.
Looks like some national law enforcement fund. I've been called by a bunch of these. I've yet to find one that is legitimate. I suspect this is a SCAM fund as well.
