Received call from someone stating to be from Windows Tech Support stating that someone was trying to access information on my computer. I ask if I could call back and was given 657 888 7283, stating that it was his supervisor's number. I further asked who was trying to access the information, at this point he made an offer to help me further secure my computer information. I requested he send me an email if he was a windows tech with a description of the problem. He made another attempt to state he was just trying to help, I hung up. Have received many calls over the past month stating they were tech's from Windows, Google, Microsoft. Caller ID always showing "out of area" caller.
This number was given to me by a member of the Microsoft Tech Support SCAM. They used a Canadian Caller ID and said they were in California. When I called them on the discrepancy, they gave me this number. They are idiots if they believe people with let a strange voice let them have access to their computer. I just tell them I run LINUX and they are stumped.
This phone call actually originated in Anguilla in the Caribbean. When you call back, you get a recording that the number is not in service. However, you can call them at 657-888-7283 and tell them what you think of their scam!!!
Got the same call from a DAVID WILSON with an English accent I could barely understand saying he was from the MS Windows Support Center but said there was no address to the company, just Haster street, CA, then said Orange CA. Clearly scammers. I asked them what person they were looking for and they were stumped. I asked them what message they received from my computer which is what they claimed, and they were stumped.
