reward redemptions saying you recently visited one of their stores, Walmart, bestbuy or target, and won $100 gift card, asked for my name and address and a major credit card to charge a $4. And something fee to activate it.. told her didn't have any and hung up
I got a call from this number that rang once then hung up. Immediately afterwards I get a text message from (855)637-1115 stating, "Bank Of America: Your Bank Card has been locked to prevent unauthorized transactions! Tap goo.gl/tWdHNH and validate your information in 3 Steps!"
I sent them a message back saying "nice try scammer, you've been reported to federal marshals", & even before the message went through I got a reply of "Thanks for the message. Configure your number's SMS URL to change this message.Reply HELP for help.Reply STOP to unsubscribe.Msg&Data rates may apply." & then as soon as my message had sent I had gotten a duplicate of that. Clearly a scam. Some may be just checking for valid numbers & that's why they'll hang up.
Just got a call from these [***] saying that they got my info from one of their "marketing partners" (I.e. BestBuy, Walmart). I was told that my info had been given to them by the "partner" and that is why I was being contacted. I caught the [***] in a lie. He told me that due to privacy laws, they were not given my phone number or what I purchased. When I confronted him about it, he said "that's almost what I said." It's wise not to call back or even answer but it's hella funny to listen to these people flounder over their words when you catch them in a lie. Just block the number and pray you never get another call from them again.
