Caller stating that you owe IRS money and knows your address is not sufficient to determine if its a legit call from the IRS. What else did the caller state that made you think it was the IRS? An IRS agent will provide you with their ID number and a case number. Were they provided??
We got 3 yesterday - 2 messages on our recorder and 1 where my husband actually spoke to them. They say they're from the IRS and that we owe money. The reason that this call was different from the rest of the "IRS calls" is that they know our address.
