I received a call with the caller ID 000-000-0000. The caller identified himself as Steve Martin (guess he thinks he's a funny guy) with the IRS. Said I had to call him back immediately or that I would be in trouble with the IRS.
Given his accent (Indian? Pakistani?...), there's no way this guy's name is actually Steve Martin. I got a badly recorded robocall, that went into repeat mode, then stopped halfway through the second playing. But good old Steve called back a short while later. He called to inform me of "an enforcement action executed by the US Treasury, intending a serious intention" and he's just trying to help me out. He tried really hard to mask his accent, but no Oscar awards to this scum bucket. My teenage son laughed out loud upon hearing this message. We've seen the real Steve Martin in concert and he was thrilling and hilarious, but all in the best way. Next time bogus Steve calls, I'll have to stifle my son's urge to pick up the phone and ask Steve to play his banjo for us.
