They left a message stating that it was the Internal Revenue Service and that I needed to call back immediately or there would be financial consequences. I called back to ask for follow up information so that I could report them and they hung up. PLEASE DO NOT CALL THEM BACK PEOPLE, IT'S A SCAM AND THEY ARE SCAREMONGERING YOU INTO GIVEING THEM YOUR PERSONAL INFO. I have gone through an official IRS audit (in 2013, so recently) and they DO NOT contact you via phone. They send you large packets in the mail and assign you a local IRS agent to work with directly. You can report this scammer to the IRS via these instructions: https://www.irs.gov/uac/Stay-Vigilant-Against ... alls-and-Emails
This person keeps calling saying for me to call him or the number 661 221 9254 within 24 hrs. or a Collection officer will contact me or I will be financially responsible for the consequences for not calling. I am so frustrated because they keep calling every other day. After reading the other responses I am not going to call because it is a scam.
Why aren't the agencies shutting these people down? Along with presumably a large number of other people, I have reported these to all the relevant places, yet I am getting these calls every day. Is it really that hard to shut them down when you have their phone number at hand?
