Received a call on 10/15/12 at 3:25 PM CST. Asked for the director of our building, what's his name? I gave him the name at which time he asked if he could speak with him. I informed him he was out today but I could take a message. He stated his name was Ed Smith with RLC Construction. The caller id showed Brenda V Ortiz. He gave his number, 661-310-1644. I asked if he knew what this would be regarding and 'Ed' said 'uh, yeah, yeah, he should'. I said okay and hung up. I've no intention of passing the message along. Duh.
Just rec'd a phone call from 661-310-1644. Asked for the owner of our company by name and identified himself as Ed Smith with RLS Construction. His tone was "familiar" as if he knew the owner of our company. However, like the others I was uncomfortable with passing on the message as the individuals name and the company are unfamiliar to me and out of the range of our company's area of business. What exactly do they think they are going to accomplish?
Just received a call from Ed Smith - the name alone sounds fishy! He asked for the owner by name and I said he was out of the office, but would leave a message. Since the phone # was out of area, I asked what state he was in and he replied that he was in California right now but has offices all over the nation. We get alot of people calling for building contractors and we only "build" roads - so I mentioned that, but he assured me that's not what his call was about. So I agree, what does this guy want?? We are also a small office - calls like this don't get very far!!
