This number also called me and how they got my number is beyond me. They said that it was very important and that i should call them. Then I looked up the number and shows it's not even a business.
I got a call from this number at work, and when I said I wasn't available they gave me this call back number, and they the girl said "I can't get personal calls at work, so please make sure she calls me back on this number" It sounded like she was my friend, but of course she thought I wasn't myself....
By the way, since it is collection on a federal loan, you should call them back right away because once the account goes into collection with them they pretty much immediately initiate wage and bank garnishments. However, they are very nice (unlike some collection agencies) and do help you set up a reasonable payment plan to avoid wage and bank garnishments. And no, I am not a collector rallying for the collection agency. I defaulted on my student loan and know who they are from experience.
