Got a call from this number just now, unsolicited. They asked for a family member and I asked who is calling. The young lady said Senior Services, something about a Living Trust. I immediately said that our number is on the Do Not Call list with the government. She replied that they "don't go by that list" and that they have another list. I said that they are IN VIOLATION and to remove our number from their call list. She mumbled something and hung up in the middle of her own sentence. Incredible, unprofessional and her call was a complete waste of my valuable time. I will not hesitate to report this company.
I called back and they answered on the first ring. They are "Guardian Estate Planning". I told them I do not take unsolicited calls and to take me off of their list. I googled their location and they are in a crummy area of Canyon Country. Typical low life telemarketer.
For all of you who keep coming to these sites to complain about telemarketers, it won't do you any good. First of all, complaining on these sites serves no purpose, other than allowing you to blow off steam. Secondly—and most importantly—some telemarketers don't care if you're on the Do Not Call list; they don't care if you don't want them to call; they don't care if you're having dinner or trying to get to sleep at night; they don't care if you think they're rude; they just DON'T CARE.
Despite your crying, whining, moaning and complaining on these forums, they will continue to call. They are CONSTANTLY changing their outgoing phone numbers to fool you. They use a technology called "robo-dialing" which is basically a computer that calls random phone numbers until they make a connection. A connection is usually confirmed when someone answers the phone and says, "Hello," thus activating the system. Calling them back from a caller ID number which is spoofed will give you a recording that says the line is disconnected.
Get used to this, folks. They will continue to call forever. Do what I do; stop answering your phone. If you have caller ID, don't answer any call that you don't recognize. If anyone wants to get in touch with you, they will leave a message. You are NOT legally required to answer your own phone. Just ignore that appliance, get on with your lives, and check your answering service periodically.
I'm glad when people put this info out there. I do get calls that look like robo calls that I want. I don't enjoy playing telephone tag which is what happens when I let it go to the machine. For example, for some reason, my doctor's scheduler's number always comes up "private" Yes, she leaves a message, but when I call her back, I get her machine. So I answer calls. Now I know to let this go to the machine or, my current favorite, hit the answer and end button. My next phone will have call blocking, which should help....
