I have to be honest, this is one of the best scam calls I have ever received. I called back after having missed the number and was told that it was a health center. They asked by I was calling and I said that I was returning their call. They hung up immediately.
I called them back a second time and the guy that answered was great, we spent a solid 15 minutes mocking each other before I could no longer contain my laughter.
So if you get a call, play with them and reap the benefits of laughter haha.

This number called me for the third time in two days. Upon answering, a thick accented man started asking me information about my past medical procedures...having had a rather annoying day already, I was in the mood to waste his time...I asked a bunch of questions...everything from what company/firm they were calling from to if his company had casual Friday. He mostly talked over me and kept talking about vaginal surgery....so I asked him what a [***] was....apparently he does not know...he got flustered and hung up. He quickly called back, and the chaos began:
me: Hello
scammer: Yes. Hello. A [***] is a lady part.
me: I see. Only ladies have them?
scammer: Yes. Now you need to give me information to process your claim.
me: what claim?
scammer: The one for the [***] surgery
me: I think only a doctor can do that type of surgery
scammer (now seriously annoyed and talking louder): You listen to me. You give me the information I need right now!
me: The information about my [***]? Sir! It is inappropriate for a man to call a married woman and ask about her [***]!
scammer(now yelling): Not about your [***]! About your surgery!
me: what surgery?
scammer: Listen to me. You must give me the information about your vaginal surgery
me: I never had surgery
scammer (definitely yelling): You need to give me your information or I will report you to the authorities!
me: Oh dear, is my [***] in some sort of legal trouble?
scammer (still yelling): Yes! And if you don't stop this and give me your information I will call the police!
me: Well great. I will not post bail again.
scammer (shrill screaming); YOU ARE CRAZY B****!

This is when I started belting out the hit "You don't own me" as loud as I could. He tried to talk over me for a few verses, but hung up. I am sure he liked it. He must have had a bad connection....  :)

I usually block and avoid, but it was a nice stress relief...and being a horrible singer, it was nice to have a forced audience...In the last few months I have casually been tracking these scam calls that I get. What I have found is  that the calls I avoid keep calling, the ones I answer and am outrageous with tend to never call back. It would seem that these chaps hate having their time wasted as much as we do. I refuse to get angry anymore, so now I am getting creative :) It was a wonderful stress relief...

this number keeps calling, I can not understand what they are saying. I asked then to remove me from their call list and now they call even more. Like yesterday, they called  9 times . Where else can you make complaints against these harassing people.

What options does one have to defend against intrusive callers?

• The Do Not Call list (Federal or State)
Works, but is effective against ONLY "legitimate" telemarketers.  Charities, political callers, surveys and some other callers are exempt.   Scammers, spammers and criminals ignore the DNC list.

• Shouting, screaming, swearing at the caller
Nope.  Does not stop calls.  May make you hoarse, and will disturb nearby people.

• Call blocker app, device or service
Could be a good choice (even though the scammers can use fake phone numbers), and some apps are free!
Google "call blocker" for more information, or check your favorite online sales site for a list.

* Your phone provider may also offer blocking services.  Check their web page for information.

If you cannot use any of the above defenses, then:
• Do not answer calls from unknown numbers ... let them go to voicemail or answering service
• Do NOT return calls from unknown numbers!  All that does is verify your phone number!  And, in some cases, those return calls may cost $20 or more to complete.

• If you have a "dumb" cell phone, assign the scammer's number to a group named "scammers" (or similar).  Then, assign a silent ringtone to that group.

If you want to report potential fraudulent or scam calls, here are two pages of links to (mostly government) sites in Canada and the USA were you can report those scams, or learn more about them.
