Called my cell phone, which I do not give out. Did not answer since I don't recognize the number. Came to this site ot check,a nd sure enough, scam. And like Dino Aerospace, called six minutes later while I was reading 800Notes. Now blocked. Goodness, at this rate I will have blocked 90% of the US telephone numbers!
I'd have to agree with you on the whole number thing my mother got a new phone and number and started getting so many calls. No me on the other hand I have had the same cell number since 1999 and I still get these calls. If you don't want calls like this buy a good smartphone that allows blocking of numbers or if you are on android download a blocking app and just start putting these numbers in.
Even most dumb phones can help. Save the unwanted number to the contact list with the name SCAM and assign a SILENT ring tone if possible. It won't block calls from the number, but you won't be annoyed by the call ringing: you can ignore it more easily. In most cases, a contact can have more than one phone number assigned, so you don't need a new contact for each scammer: just add the new number to your SCAM contact profile. I did this when I had a dumb phone. It helped me cope.
They're big time SCAMMERS . They ask you to give your PG&E account number and personal info.
I told the scammer that I'm a Nigerian prince who wants to give her millions of dollars, but first, she needs to send me her bank account number and a $5000 check. Lol, she got upset and hung up on me...hahaha
