"Hello is this (my first and last name)? How are you doing today? I am Mr Paul Thompson from NASSCOM Company,I am contacting you in regards Your resume that was reviewed by the" They knew my full first and last name and were pressuring me to interview immediately by downloading google hangouts. Then when I told them I never applied for a job with them he stopped responding. This is obviously a scam.
This number contacted me about a job opportunity at Outware Mobile Company. Misspelled words and too eager to be a reputable company. Do not fall for this scam.
This number just contacted me as well. It stated it was Mr Paul Thompson from Outware Mobile Company which is located in Australia from a Los Angeles area code which I found weird, but okay I can believe it. But then it references my resume and states that it was reviewed by the Recruiting Dept for "the available position". Yah, there was no position stated. But gullible me decided to respond asking which particular position it was referring to. This response made me know it was a scam:
"This is in regards to the vacant position of Data Entry/human resources/ House Keeping/SOFTWARE ENGINEERING/Administrative Assistant /Customer Service/medical billing/account manager/executive assistant/Call Center Rep/Cashier Rep/Accounting/sales rep/Entrepreneur/bookkeeping/health care/ insurance/Management Supervisor/Mail Clerk/,office assist/payroll clerk/Computer Operator/Producer/Compliance/Risk Manager positions/electrical engineering intern positions..
Under which environment do you best fit ?"
Yah, not my cup of tea. I never thought scams would stoop that low... I wouldn't mind to live in the land down under, other than the crazy amount of animals that could and would hurt/kill me... Anywho, hope this helps someone!
I was contacted by this number also by a Mr. Paul Thompson from Outware Mobile Company, but could not find anyone of that name working for that company on linkedin. I think it's totally weird and suspicious. I think it is a scam and decided not continue responding.
How can you tell if this job offer is a scam?
1. There is no personal interview, or sometimes no interview at all.
2. It is a work at home position many times because the office in your area is not built, rented, or established yet.
3. You need a bank account to receive and deposit checks, or you need to receive packages and resend them.
4. You need to deposit the check, and send the money through some way such as western union or Greendot money card.
5. The pay and benefits are way beyond anything you would normally earn.
6. All communication is by e mail, text, or instant message.
