Instead of a Do Not Call List, they should have a DO CALL LIST. I bet it would be short.

I too am now receiving calls & the Caller ID says Mercy. I see so many of these boards/forums/chats with people complaining about the multiple calls, (not just from Mercy, but so many other companies too). The problem most people do not understand, is since technology has changed our world, so have dialing procedures for companies.
Many companies now use software systems called Predictive Dialers, or Automated Dialers, & they are standard in the industry. I'm not going to go into the whole machinations of how they work, but calls get misdialed or connect late due to queueing time for the representatives making the calls, (no longer do they pick up a phone & dial by hand). When you answer your phone, sometimes the dialer has already dialed you, but the person on the other end making the call has not even been connected to you yet. It is not the reps' fault! It's the way the software works. I've used several of these Predictive Dialers, & that's just how they work. Also, most companies require their employees/independent contractors to not leave messages as they are required to speak to a live human being. Even the National DNC Registry FAQ (#36) states, "You may also file a complaint if you received a call that used a recorded message instead of a live person (whether or not your number was on the Registry).
And as for the National Do Not Call Registry List, people really need to go back to the Do Not Call website & read the fine print & all of the FAQ's. On FAQ #28 it states, "Calls from or on behalf of political organizations, charities, and telephone surveyors would still be permitted, as would calls from companies with which you have an existing business relationship." Please everyone, do your due diligence. The National Do Not Call Registry site even states that the DNC list will not stop all calls, it was meant to give you choices to limit (reduce) the calls. Bottom line, there's no need to be hateful, ugly, or nasty. All you have to do is ask to be put on the company's DNC list, & they will happily comply with your request. Many of the reps will verify your number to be sure that the number is correct in order to comply with your request. Thanks for not being part of the "UGLY" crowd, & God will love you more!
