My mother received a call saying her nephew was in jail in Manilla. They even put someone on the phone claiming it was him. He told her he called her so that the family wouldn't know he was in jail. They wanted $2500 or it would take him 8 weeks or more to get home.
This number has called my elderly friend today and several times before. I got the number off caller id and called back. No one answered the first time and I called back and a guy answered. I asked his name, he hesitated then said Daniel. He claimed he had no idea what he was talking about. The caller knew mybfriends grandsons name. It freaked her out. He was in Mexico speeding and got pulled over and there were drugs n his car so.he.needed help and needed her to send money. What a load of crap.
